Thailand Partnership Program
The high potential of the region stems from the current knowledge and technology gap between our European and Asian portfolio. As the only Asian market that has a supportive rhetoric towards medical cannabis, there is an influx of previously untapped cannabis entrepreneurs, land resources and medical demand in the country. We are able to bridge this gap by providing the necessary financial and technological resources to potential farms in Thailand.
This includes setting up the controlled environments to produce pharmaceutical grade cannabis and setting up quality control checks to ensure all cultivars are suitable for export to the EU region within the . With the high quality of cannabis, we are also able to acquire higher market share and become a leader in the markets.
Why Thailand?
Government Support and Partnership
Green VIVO has closely followed the cannabis market in Thailand since 2018. While there is uncertainty in policy making towards non-medical usage, the government has maintained a strong stance of supporting medical growth and applications. We are also in regular communication with policymakers and involved government boards to advocate medical cannabis as a key export for Thailand.
We are in discussions for further support such as grants on land usage for potential partnering farms and creating a framework that regulates production.
Lower Operation and Production Costs
As our European partners continue to face rising production costs, we are able to mitigate inflationary pressures by diversifying our regional supply lines to a location where land usage and operation costs are a fraction of Europe. With improvements in technology, we can provide consulting for our Thai partners to circumvent climate differences and completely replicate European growth conditions and quality.
Wide Local Network and Strategic Location
As a relatively new industry drawing immense interest from parties in surrounding countries that are still heavily restricted, Thailand draws a large number of entrepreneurs to the country. With the right support infrastructure and distribution network provided by Green VIVO, we will be able to capitalize on a blooming market to establish ourselves as leaders in the region and be the first to react to any positive developments in Asia for medical cannabis. Being in Thailand also brings us closer to another key medical cannabis market, Australia. Green VIVO is in talks to begin distribution in Australia and the hub in Thailand increases logistical synergy.
Being the only Asian country with a progressive stance towards cannabis’ medical and general utility, Thailand has a huge local medical demand and also attracts medical cannabis tourism. As the rest of the region remains unlikely to open up to any forms of cannabis usage, Thailand will garner all of the region’s market share and demand is forecasted to continue growing exponentially in the next decade.
